I've been patrolling
on a pair of Bulldogs this week at Jay Peak. Too early for me to
comment on durablity although
they appear to be quite sturdy, but i have
two initial comments, both positive. My well-worn (=/-300 days) Scarpa
T-1 boots and blown out
3-pin boot holes (I patrol on Voile 3-pin plus
cable bindings) still lock into the Bulldog bindings rock solid.
Thrashing in the bumps or
sideslipping ahead of a loaded sled they still
give excellent lateral stqablity, no play in any direction.
But what I really like about these bindingd
is having a ski-brake just like the alpine guys get, meaning you can
click out of the bindings without fear of them running off down the
hill, and you can leave them where they lay without having to flip
them over as with chilis, voiles, and etc. A BIG quality of life improvement
for the 100 day a year professional patroller.
